Who Am I

A.J Hake (Amp)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s in Applied Science (2020)
  • Master’s in Computing and Information Systems (2026)

Skills:

  • Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Rush
  • DaVinci Resolve Studio
  • Web content creation, management
  • Web app development
  • Social Media management
  • Data analytics and insight processing
  • Project management, communication and presentation.
  • Hardware configuration, management, “tinkering”, DIY hardware projects
  • Network management
  • Digital education and instruction
  • Software programming, C++, Java, Python, Javascript

Hobbies:

  • Wargaming: Think of chess, but bigger. With terrain pieces representing buildings or hills. And much more intricate pieces that you have to assemble, and paint yourself.
  • Digital Inclusion Activism: Not necessarily a hobby but I do spend a lot of my free time volunteering for certain non-profit initiatives. Usually involves teaching technology based workshops, providing an informed opinion on matters of digital inclusion.
  • 3D Printing and Design: Kind of goes hand-in-hand  with wargaming, but I also print shells/cases for my hardware projects.
  • Hardware Projects: I do a little tinkering. A little “taking the remote apart and putting it back together” as Flobots would put it.
  • Digital Photography: I like “capturing the moment”. I like candid shots, portraits, landscape, macro/miniature, and event photography.
  • Videography: I enjoy storytelling, but its difficult to capture everything in just words. My favorite kinds of videos to record are interviews, although I don’t mind shooting weddings or more conventional events.
  • Drone flying: Kind of its own hobby, kind of part of photography/videography. I don’t fly anything other than camera drones, but I am certified to fly recreationally.
  • Ham radio operation: Telecommunications is a bit of a dying field with the rise of internet based communication channels, but I can appreciate the science that goes into embedding messages into frequencies. I am also a certified technician operator.
  • GIS and Remote Sensing Skills/Projects: Thanks to the opportunities offered by my university I was fortunate to get hands on experience with ArcGIS and working with satellite data for my coursework. See my projects page for some examples.

My Thesis - But As A Podcast

Note: Podcast was generated using beta AI features of NotebookLM and may not be entirely accurate to the literature it was based on. To read the paper in full, a link will become available when it is submitted to my department. Any resemblance between the voices used here and that of real persons is entirely coincidence from the perspective of the author.
